Affiliate Disclosure

Some links on this site lead to products we have reviewed and use. If you sign up via those links, Klem HQ may receive a small referral fee at no additional cost to you. This page explains when that happens, how we disclose it, and the editorial rules we keep in place so the fee never bends the review.
1. What an affiliate link is, in plain language
An affiliate link is a URL that includes a tracking parameter identifying Klem HQ as the referring source. If you click such a link and then sign up for, or purchase, the linked product, the vendor may pay Klem HQ a one-time or recurring fee. You pay the same price you would have paid without the link. The fee is the vendor's, not yours.
We use affiliate links only where we have already decided, on editorial grounds, that the product belongs on our short list of recommended tools. We do not write a review in order to qualify for an affiliate program, and we do not adjust the contents of a review to meet a program's marketing requirements.
2. United States — FTC 16 CFR Part 255 compliance
For readers in the United States, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255) require that material connections between an endorser and a product be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and in proximity to the endorsement itself.
Klem HQ's material connection — that we may earn a referral fee when readers sign up via a link in a review — is disclosed in three places: a short paragraph at the foot of every review that contains an affiliate link, the link itself (which routes through the vendor's affiliate-program URL), and this page, which is referenced from every review and from the site footer. The disclosure language is the same plain-English wording every time, so the reader is not asked to decode it.
3. European Union and United Kingdom
For readers in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (Directive 2005/29/EC) and the EU Digital Services Act, Article 26, require transparency around commercial communications. National implementing legislation (including the UK Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, as amended) imposes equivalent obligations.
The disclosure pattern described in section 2 — proximate, clear, plain-language, and repeated on a standalone reference page — is intended to satisfy these obligations as well. This page is not a substitute for legal advice on your own use of affiliate links; it is a statement of how Klem HQ discloses its own.
4. Editorial integrity rule
Reviews are written before affiliate programs are signed up. We do not adjust review content based on referral fee terms. If a tool's program ToS prohibits naming a flaw we have observed, or requires promotional language that conflicts with our calm voice, the affiliate link is dropped — the editorial is not. This is recorded as an architectural decision in our internal records (ADR-0011, brand-fit guardrail item 3) and applies without exception.
The practical consequence: some reviews on this site will not carry an affiliate link, either because no program exists, because the program's terms conflict with editorial honesty, or because we have not yet signed up. In every such case, the review itself is unchanged; only the link slot is absent.
5. Programs we currently disclose
The table below lists the programs Klem HQ has signed up for, or is in the process of signing up for, as of the date above. Where the exact commission category is not yet finalised — for example, because the program enrolment is still under review or because the dashboard rate changes periodically — we list the category at a coarse level and update it as the program activates.

When a program is activated and a link is added to a review, that row is updated with the link target and the verified commission rate. When a program is dropped or remains inactive, the row records that fact rather than being deleted.
6. What we do not do
- We do not run pay-for-placement reviews. A vendor cannot purchase a review on this site.
- We do not write a review and then ask the vendor what we should say. The review is finalised editorially before any affiliate link is added.
- We do not use disclosure language designed to be missed. The disclosure paragraph at the foot of every affiliate-bearing review uses the same plain wording each time and is set in the body text size, not in fine print.
- We do not gate the disclosure behind a click. This page is linked directly from every affiliate-bearing review and from the site footer.
7. Governing law
This disclosure is governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this disclosure shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) in accordance with the SIAC Rules in force at the time, before a single arbitrator, seated in Singapore, conducted in English.
